Hi dear readers of HTV! After a few weeks of flight complications, delays, cancellations, etc… I manage to get in touch with Zebrahead to make this interview, which in my opinion was pretty entertaining, we even talk about porn stars and how hot Kim Kardashian is; But the point is that Matty told us a few facts that makes Zebrahead so recognized worldwide as they are now.

Matty: I think that Wikipedia is gonna be the downfall of human society as we know it, I don’t know if Wikipedia changed the rules or not, but you can write anything about anything and thinking that I´m not a kid being in school and write reports, as a teacher you get reports about some historical event and it can be only bullshit (based on Wikipedia).

Matty: Mmmh.. Beer, alcohol, more beer, mmmmhhh… Our private bongs so we don’t see each other, It´s tough, it´s a tough one.

Matty: It´s kinda weird that you mentioned that, I think we did a couple of tours here with Reel Big Fish which helped out a lot and then we made a couple of tours in England with The all American rejects and then through Europe with Simple Plan so being in those tours and then immediately we started to make our headline tours and that helped a lot and thanks to the bands who took us with them, it was really cool.

Matty: (Laughs) There are video games that I play and you know I like baseball and hockey? And the sport games we haven’t been on and I want to be in one of those video games, or any adult video game that we haven’t been on, well I don’t know any.

Matty: Aaaah ok lets see, well depends I am so punk rock but I have no tattoos, I have no piercings, well is hard what you are asking we are such a shitty rock and roll band (laughs) I mean if you are in a rock and roll band just rock!!.

Matty: Piracy? It´s so weird because, I grew up on CDs and tapes, now anyone can download anything, we´ve just been downloading some porn for free and I think it doesn’t hurt their sales, but concerning to music I think it helps, because basically you want to put your music out there as much as many people possible and through internet is the easiest way to get the music out there and to the people downloading our music illegally just go for it but show up at our shows and have a good time at least. There are so many bands right now who emerged from myspace , before zebrahead I was playing in another band and we didn’t have any of these websites, not even with zebrahead till just a few years ago, so I think musically it helps everyone.

Matty: Well, we get a lot more free stuff that we wouldn’t got like shoes, t-shirts and this guitar company in Japan which gives us brand new guitars, custom made guitars and you know as a regular dude you wouldn’t get all that for free, It´s amazing and ups!! Before I forget it this coke zero im drinking I didn’t even paid for it (laughs) It´s so cool!! And well people treat you different but well we are just normal dudes.

Matty: (Laughs) Thank you very much for that question, because it´s true and recently all of our other songs are over powered than that song and for example in the U.S. people want us to play that song all the time, because it was the song that had a lot of push there and maybe that’s why here in Europe it´s not just play Playmate of the year, you know after 2 regular albums and a cover album, but well maybe the song got so famous because the video is so good or maybe the video is shitty but no one would say that, you know? Girls, tits, whatever that’s all what we need we need another video like that, maybe that’s all we need to change everyone´s minds. So it is what it is and we appreciate the people who like us for any reason, better come to the show you will hear more songs, buy or steal the record we don’t care, just have a good time.

Matty: After this tour we are heading home stop for a while, start to write a new record and may we leave again try to finish the record and in the meantime we will try to put together some footage for a DVD.

Matty: Somebody mentioned Mexico city once but I don’t know when or where, but we are also planning some south American thing but we don’t know when exactly.

Matty: All I want to say is that we love Austria, we love Vienna and every time we come here we have a really good time and thanks for coming to our show!
