Chaos of Society is an awesome band from Thailand that I have been following over the internet for a while now. Funnily enough I happened to find their drummer Arm Oi on Facebook, and asked him if he wanted to make an online interview. He said “yes” immediately and here it is! Cheers!

Who and what is CHAOS OF SOCIETY? Where does your band name come from?
Chaos of society is punk band (Ra-vocal, Gun-Bass, Bomb-guitar, Jang-Guitar and Arm Oi-Drums). We started the band in 2005.
CHAOS OF SOCIETY means every chaos in the country, in your society, in this world. It's the same and we see it we pass through everyday. So we want to let you know how we feel about it in the punk band name Chaos of Society.

How would you describe your music? What are some of your main influences?

Our music is street punk, so we write about how we live, the punk scene in Thailand, and political issues. And we can say Punk is main influences for us.

How did you guys first get into punk? How does the public react to you/your music?

We can't remember first time, but we are punk. We like the way we are, the way we live and when we listen punk music it just “Yeah, this is it!” About the public, sure some of them nice and agree with us, and some are against us. But the fact is we just do our part, so what ever they say we don't really care.


What is the punk scene in Thailand like? How would you describe it? Is there a big scene? Do underground genres stick together (like punk, ska, oi, reggae, hardcore, etc.) or is there more separation between the genres in Thailand?

The punk scene in Thailand is great. It’s not too big, but we are growing. We live like a family. We have more than 20 punk bands and we have a gig like once a month and we will not stop moving forward. So yeah, we are underground and our society is not big that make us to know other genres like Skinhead, Hardcore, and ska. We hangout and we play music together sometime.


What are some important political issues for you and your music?
Actually most of our songs are about political issues. Of course in the bad way.

Is religion an issue for you guys?

We are Buddhists and It's not a problem for us at all

What do you think about the recent protests and the Red Shirts?

All I see are just Thai people hurting each other and burning our country. That was terrible


What do you think about people who say "punk is dead!" ?
I don't really care about them because I'm totally sure that they don't know what we do and what we live.
And I want to ask them if they have heard the song "PUNKS NOT DEAD" ?? haha
Actually I don't mind at all because at least I never talk shit or piss on them so who cares..


How has technology helped you guys?
(stuff like myspace, youtube, facebook, internet, etc.)

It helps me a lot especially myspace and Facebook, also we can connect with our Fans by internet.

What are CHAOS OF SOCIETY's plans for the future?

We want to play music and release more and more albums and tour in another country some time.

What does CHAOS OF SOCIETY like to eat and drink?

Of course we love Thai food and Thai Beer! "LEO BEER" the best ever!
