Tags:

Finally the X-mas nightmare is over, most of the world population is bankrupt after buying 1000s of presents for people that they dont even like or see the whole year, but well in X-Mas we all love each other....NOT. We succesfully finished the 2010 and now one more year is ahead of us and what a better beginning than posting an interview with the upcoming band from Austria called 3 STILLS. This young guys just released their new songs on their myspace site www.myspace.com/3stills check them out and I hope this interview with the band make you clear that Austrian youngsters have a lot of potential in punk rock music.

By: Miguel Guinness.

What does 3 Stills mean?
Luki: Actually, we were searching for a name for a long time and we came across the name 3 Stills.          As we didn’t have any idea of a different name, we chose this one. So it didn’t have too              much meaning at the beginning.
But now you could say that we were so forward-thinking, so that the three founders will     always be part of the band. ;) Further on, I (Luki) always say that these 3 guys are still     making music with me. So it has got some kind of an indestructible meaning, as the setting up will hopefully stay the same for a long time.

Which kind of music you play and which influences you have?

Luki:I would describe the music as mainly punk-rock; some ska-influences can also be heard. We     like bands such as Rancid, Rise Against, Blink 182 and many more, but of course we also listen to local bands like Tommy Gun, Unavoidable or 21 Stories, just to mention a few. You might hear some Green Day influences of their first few records. However, we try to create     music as we like it.

Who are the members?

    Luki – vocals, guitar
    Roman – drums, background vocals
    Kiesi – guitar, background vocals
    Jotsch – bass, background vocals
    Guest:    Elke-Sax

Since when the band exists?
Luki: The first ideas of having a band were realized in 2008. At the beginning we played in the     garden shed of Kiesi’s grandmother. Then we decided to practice at Roman’s home and  we’re truly grateful about that. It was just the three of us(Luki,Kiesi,Roman) and Jotsch joined the band in the end of 2008. The project really started to function and in 2009 we played our first shows. Since that we’ve been working hard and of course we’ll go on like this.

Do you already have some CD or demo?
Luki: We’ve just recorded at the Grave Yard Studio and our first EP “Long way to go” will be     released at the beginning of the year 2011. Some impressions may be given sooner on myspace or facebook. We had also recorded some single demo songs before.

When and where will be your next shows?

Luki:  15.1.2011: Szene, Wien; International Live Award 2011
17.2.2011: Darkslide Bar, Amstetten; + Brain Shake (Fra)
         12.3.2011: Jederzeit, Perg; +tba

Jotsch: A short EP Release-Tour will follow. Dates and more informations will be published soon     on our myspace site and on facebook.

What are your plans for the future?

Luki: We will work hard on our songs and also try to create new songs. We will always give 100 %     at our live shows for the crowd, don’t matter how many people. Our debut-EP ‘Long way to     go’ and T-shirts will be available soon.
If we go on as yet, we will certainly have fun and earn many experiences.

Have you already played with some famous bands?

Luki:We played with The Gogets in St.Pölten and we also played at the PaybackFestival with     bands like Bilderbuch, The Eccos or Solrize. In August 2010 we could’ve played at the J    FAM(Tommy Gun, Ramazuri, Black Velvet, Skabucks) but unfortunately it was cancelled,      because of the weather.

Jotsch: Some bigger shows for 2011 are arranged  – stay tuned!

What 3 Stills think about the leaked information from Wikileaks?
Jotsch: I could say so much about it that I don´t know where to start. But have a look at our lyrics,     then you´ll know what we are thinking about. ;)

Anything that you would like to add?

Jotsch: Yeah, we wish everyone A HAPPY NEW YEAR WITH GOOD AUSTRIAN MUSIC!!

Cheers and keep on rocking!
